On a Sunday in November, I visited this Israeli-Kurdish family to document their morning. Jen and Baris moved with their four year old daughter Ela from Istanbul to Berlin a year ago and found a new home Prenzlauer Berg. As a lot of days in November here, it was dark and grey outside, but their light flooded home was the perfect setting for some beautiful and bright family photos. For this home story, I tried to do something different. Rather than guiding the family through activities, I went for a fly-on-the-wall approach and tried to suggest as little as possible. I was curious if the photos would turn out differently from this kind of session. The general pace of the photo session very relaxed and less “action packed”, I just followed along what Ela and their parents wanted to do. Here are some photos of sweet Ela and her parent:
