Besides shooting for brands and events, I always had a special love for photographing children, couples and families. It’s since I became a mom myself that I realized that there is something so special about photographing children and families in a certain stage of life and have memories to look at and hold on to.
My family sessions are for documenting the emotions, relationships, chaos and adventures of your everyday life. These sessions capture honest moments, and tell your story exactly how it is at this time in your lives. Documenting these moments with photographs gives a visual voice to life’s journeys and milestone, and will give you a chance to look back upon this fleeting time over and over again and to share with many generations to come.
It is my vision to make those feelings, stories and connections come to life and to make them tangible for you to hold onto forever. It’s these everyday little moments that make us who we are.
How does it work?
After booking your session, we’ll discuss the details on the phone. I’ll get to know you and what you want out of the session and we’ll talk about how and where to take the photos.
Where are we going to take the photos? What are we going to do during the photo session?
I can capture your family in the comfort of your own home, or I can help you to select an outdoor location that is meaningful to your family. At home I can photograph your family having breakfast, preparing a meal or playing together. Outdoors, it could be one of favorite locations, in a park, in the woods, or a playground. There’s plenty of great locations outdoors and I can give you some ideas on how to pick one.
How long does a session last?
Usually about 2 hours, sometimes up to 3 hours. It depends on how you and your children feel.
What’s the best time for the photo session?
That depends on the location. Home sessions can be taken in any time of day as long as there is enough daylight. Outdoors works best early in the mornings or 2-3 hours before sunset.
What are we going to do?
I’ll suggest ideas and I will direct you a little in your interactions, sometimes guide you gently through some activities, but I’ll leave plenty of room for spontaneous moments and ideas. My focus is on capturing authentic, candid and fun moments, plenty of warm and genuine emotion. So that is what most of the photos will look like. Of course, we can sneak in the classic family shot as well.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that you feel comfortable in. No large prints, graphics or patterns as these will distract from what’s most important: the face and the expressions. Choose 2-3 colours for everyone to work with, and avoid being “matchy-matchy”. Textures and layers are great, as are neutral, soft and muted tones. I can help pick your clothes so that you wear complimentary colors.
My kids are wild, I don’t think they’ll sit through a photo session, it’ll be chaos.
I have no expectations of your children! If they are energetic kids who like to move and run and play, we’ll do that. If they’re shy and need some help to open up we’ll ease into it gently. Please don’t feel that your children need to be behave perfectly in front of the camera. They don’t. They just need to be them. Do the things you would normally do as a family and trust me as your photographer.
When will I receive the photos?
You will receive around around 50 retouched, high resolution photos, delivered by download link after two weeks of the sessions. I usually try to deliver much faster, so it will take 2 weeks max.
How much does it cost?
A family session that last 2-3 hours costs 350€. That includes the phone call discussing the photo session, answering all the questions you have, helping pick you clothes, the actual photo session at your favorite location, and the delivery of the final retouched photos via download.
How can I pay?
I accept payments via Paypal. After we discussed a date you need to pay a deposit of 100€ before the photo session.
What if the weather is bad or one of my kids get sick?
If it’s pouring and there is very little daylight, you or your kids get sick we will re-schedule. We’ll make it work eventually.
